The LakeView House and Cottage are open April 1 through January 5.

Rates do not include 7% state sales tax and 3% county occupancy tax. There is a one time cleaning fee of $50 for the LakeView House and $35 for the LakeView Cottage.

Deposits -
Payable by check, MasterCard or Visa
For reservations made more than 14 days prior to check-in, a deposit equal to 50% of the rental fee is due
For reservations made within 14 days of check-in, the entire rental fee is due

Cancellations -
If you have to cancel your reservation 30 or more days before your arrival your deposit will be refunded less a $75 administrative fee. If you have to cancel your reservation within 30-14 days of the check-in date, a cancellation fee of 50% of the rental will be applied.* If you have to cancel your reservation within 14 days of the check-in date, a cancellation fee of 100% of the rental will be applied. *

No refunds for early departure or late arrivals

General Information –
Please let us know immediately about any damage or necessary repairs. Repairs to appliances and other systems on the property will be made as soon as possible. We cannot make refunds for any malfunctions during your stay. We reserve the right to enter premises to perform repairs, maintenance, etc.

All homes have local telephone service. There is a block on calls out of our area so you will need a long distance calling card or you can charge long distance calls to your home phone.

Our homes each have satellite TV service that includes the 4 major networks and a variety of other programming. We do not offer premium, movie or pay-per-view services. Each home has a VCR/DVD player – movie rentals are available at the Ingles grocery store in Cashiers.

We are animal lovers and welcome your ‘well behaved’ pet. To many of us they are part of the family and bringing them along is important not to mention more affordable than boarding fees. Our homes all have fenced in areas, however outside the property you must use a leash. Due to the additional cleaning expense and occasional yard maintenance costs there is a non-refundable fee of $50 for the first pet and $25 each for the second or third. Pet fees are subject to 7% state sales tax. Payment of this fee(s) and bringing your pet(s) is your acknowledgement of financial responsibility for any repairs or damage to any item or aspect of the property caused by your pet.

We request that you please do not smoke inside the house.

Occupancy by more than the pre-arranged number of guests is grounds for immediate eviction, without a refund, in accordance with the North Carolina Vacation Rental Act.

If you leave something behind, we cannot be responsible for it’s safe return. However, we will gladly check the property and if recovered we will ship it to you at your expense plus a $10 handling fee.

While you are here we ask that you accept financial responsibility for any and all damages to the property, its contents and/or grounds including the cost of repairs, replacement or specialty cleaning that is caused by you or anyone in your party as well as guests who visit you during your stay.

Our properties may not be used for any activity that violates local, state or Federal laws. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sugar Bear Lodge, LLC, The Lakeview House, LLC, The Lakeview Cottage, LLC and Sugar Bear’s Cricket, LLC and/or it’s representatives from any and all claims (including those of third parties) arising of or in any way related to your use of the property or the items contained therein. You assume the risk of injury or other loss relating to any activities and hold Sugar Bear Lodge, LLC, The Lakeview House, LLC, The Lakeview Cottage, LLC and Sugar Bear’s Cricket, LLC and/or it’s representatives harmless in this respect.

Tendering payment in any form for your reservation is your acknowledgement that you have read, understood and will comply with the policies outlined herein.
