(sleeps 8) - 3 Bedrooms & Loft, 2 Baths (1 king,
2 twin, 2 twin, 1 queen – twins can be converted to king)
This most recent addition to the beautiful vacation homes at
Sugar Bear Lodge is the largest of our three homes accommodating
eight comfortably.
As you round the bend approaching
the house you’ll come upon the Gazebo nestled in a stand of
native rhododendrons and hemlocks. A perfect spot to relax, visit
with friends and contemplate the events of the day.
Adjacent to the gazebo is an old stone retaining wall covered
with climbing rose vines which creates the backdrop for the natural
stone patio, large hot tub, gas grill and seating area.
Entering the house you find yourself in the newly remodeled,
large, fully equipped kitchen with barnwood walls and expansive
stained oak countertops. The farmhouse style pine table with banquette
bench and chairs easily seats eight.
Just off the kitchen is the large living area with
a two story vaulted ceiling and huge picture windows providing lake
vistas on both sides. The oversized brick fireplace with raised
hearth is perfect for taking the chill off on a cool evening.
Between the picture windows is a game table for a friendly round
of cards or board game. The overstuffed furniture in the living
room provides a perfect spot for watching the 50” television.
Just outside the living room is a very large deck with access
to the side yard and patio. Cantilevered over the lower yard this
area provides an astounding view of Lake Glenville and the surrounding
mountains. Relax in one of the lounge chairs, under an umbrella
or at the garden table as you watch the setting sun follow its path
behind the mountains.
As you ascend the stairs from the living room you’ll note
a rustic local tradition, “Mountain Laurel” branches
intertwined to create the center panels for the banister and handrail.
At the top of the stairs is the loft with a queen size bed and
sitting area overlooking the living room below.
Adjacent to the loft is a large gabled bedroom with twin beds
and a full bathroom with tub and shower.
On the main level are two more large bedrooms one with a king
size bed, the other with twins.
In the hall vestibule is the laundry center. Here you also find
the large full bathroom with double pedestal sinks and tub with
shower.
