We
invite you to tour our charming vacation homes overlooking beautiful
Lake Glenville.
Located in the "Land of the Waterfalls" within Western
North Carolina’s panoramic Blue Ridge Mountains, these "homes
away from home" are nestled in the Nantahala National Forest.
Our
homes in the little hamlet of "Glenville" are just 3½
miles north of the village of Cashiers and 14 miles from historic
Highlands.

“Lake Glenville, originally known as Thorpe Reservoir is the highest
lake east of the Mississippi, with 26 miles of shoreline at an altitude
of over 3400 feet.
Encompassing 1470 acres the waters of this pristine lake offer
a variety of water sports, excellent fishing or just a leisurely
cruise around the many coves and spectacular waterfalls along its
banks. Lake Glenville is considered to be one of the 10 most beautiful
lakes in America.”

Less than a mile from your vacation home at Sugar Bear Lodge,
you will find boat rentals ranging from small fishing crafts to
ski boats to pontoon boats.
Pack a picnic basket, cruise around the lake and beach your boat
at one of the public islands where you can swim in the crystal clear
waters.

Situated on the “Cashiers-Highlands Plateau”,
we are ideally located in close proximity to a variety of activities,
shopping and dining.
Go
hiking, mountain biking or white-water rafting; browse antique shops,
galleries and specialty stores; visit dozens of incredible waterfalls
(some visible from the road);
spend a day at The Biltmore House; test your fly-fishing skills
or enjoy a game of golf or tennis.
The
range of things to do on and around the plateau is formidable. Or
you might just want to spend your day relaxing around your comfortable,
cozy mountain getaway and lounging your own hot tub.
Now that’s a vacation!
